Mountain-ski resort Ribniško Pohorje

The Mountain-Ski Resort Ribniško Pohorje is located in the idyllic landscape of the western Pohorje Hills. The spatial positioning of the new tourist infrastructure is in accordance with the development of winter and summer tourism, including wellness tourism, spa tourism, congress tourism, cycle tourism, golfing tourism, adventure tourism, and agro-tourism. The diverse and varied mountainous landscape offers remarkable options for active holidays and relaxation in the midst of an idyllic mountainous landscape for all generations and types of guests as well as in all seasons.

A. The Ski Resort Ribniško Pohorje includes the upgrading and construction of ski runs on 160 hectares, an artificial snow-making system, a circular cableway, four- or six-person chairlifts, drag lifts, and cross-country skiing trails. The new skiing areas will ensure optimal conditions for the development of an all-encompassing winter tourism offer: skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, a children’s ski school, a snow beach, a snowboard park, ski courses and competitions, and various events. This part includes:
1. The construction of the KKŽ Pesnik circular cableway and a connecting way from the village of Ribnica na Pohorju to the existing Ribniška Koča Ski Centre on top of the Pohorje Hills
2. The construction of the Smolnik four-person chairlift
3. The construction of two connecting four-person chairlifts to Hudi Kot – between the Ski Resort Ribniško Pohorje and the existing Kope Ski Centre (2 four-person chairlifts, 6 drag lifts)

B. Accommodation and wellness include the construction of a new hotel- and apartment complex right by the Ribnica na Pohorju mountain village. 800 beds of a 3*-4* class are planned (250 beds in 2 hotels, and 550 beds in 11 typical apartment buildings). A hotel restaurant is also planned. There will also be spaces for shops, snow-gear rental, 2 indoor pools, and a wellness centre with jacuzzis, saunas, a gym, and a massage studio – all as part of the development of mountain wellness activities. This part includes:

1. The construction of a hotel- and apartment complex in Ribnica na Pohorju
2. The construction of three smaller apartments complexes next to the lifts at the Ribniško Pohorje: Pesnik, Smolnik, and at the Ribniška Koča mountain lodge

Plot sizes – 120 hectares
Building layout – subject to private investments to establish additional 2,000 beds

c. The upgrading and construction of an artificial snow-making system
d. The equipment for ski runs maintenance and supervision
e. The upgrading of the traffic and urban infrastructure (parking areas, footpaths, cycling paths, etc.)

2.Phase:
a. The upgrading and construction of the hotel and apartment complexes (2,000 beds)
b. The upgrading of the tourist offer: a pool, a wellness centre, sports areas, a congress centre, etc.
c. The upgrading of the catering and retail offer

The building permit has already been obtained so an immediate construction of the cableway and the lift infrastructure for the Ski Resort Ribniško Pohorje is possible.
